I had my (almost) 40 week appointment this morning. I am 3cm dilated and still 80% effaced. Considering I was 2 1/2 last week, my doctor said that we might as well wait until monday because the date 8.9.10 totally rocks!!!! :-) Also, the hospital is going through some construction, and my doctor told me not to go in labor today or tomorrow because they won't be finished with the new carpeting until Saturday evening. Obviously I can go in labor, :-) but she just wants me to be as comfortable as possible. I will have a brand new room to labor in and a brand new room to recover in! The only thing that won't be ready is the waiting room, so our "guests" will have to wait in the post-pardum room reserved for us. We are set to go to the hospital Monday morning at 7!!!!! We are trying to make the weekend fly by, and so we decided to make it all about Ethan! We will try to go to the beach, parks and etc. NO WORKING! (Except for when Ethan goes to bed)
My doctor asked me what I want for the induction because she knows I read about practically everything pregnancy related and could answer her question, and I decided that I will take 1 dose of Cytotech (sp?) and then "on with the pitocin!" I want to get the show on the road and have the baby in the evening! I will ask for my water to be broken somewhere in there too, but we'll have to play that one by ear. I took 4 (I think) doses of the Cyto when induced with Ethan, and the pitocin after that, but it took 29 hours from when we came to the hospital to when he was born. I don't want this to take so long and so that is why I requested the pit sooner. My doctor likes that request and said that is what she was thinking too.
Sorry for the on-going thoughts, but that is how my brain is working right now ;-)
I can't wait to post what we have!!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

We both got induced both times, and Ethan is almost 4 years old, and Shaydon turned 4 after Kaylynn was born - lots of similarities! My labor with Kaylynn took 2 hours longer than with Shaydon (they broke my water later in the morning with Kaylynn for some reason so I think that's why it took longer). But other than that, the deliveries were so similar! I hope this induction goes well and your labor lasts no where near 29 hours! Hope this baby comes today! I can't wait to hear!
Loved the pictures!
