Yes, I received my first "why?" of many (I'm sure) from Ethan yesterday. It went as follows
Ethan- "mommy, I'm going to bite you" (pretending to bite me)
Me- "Don't bite mommy, that is not nice" (fully knowing that he was just pretending)
Ethan- "Not nice?"
Me- "Yes, It is not nice to bite people, It hurts"
Ethan-"It hurts"
Me- "Yes, It hurts when you bite"
Ethan- "Why?"
Me- *pausing for a minute* Then I gave him a big hug because it was his first "why" and I was a little proud of him, then told him I love him and let go and he ran into his room to play.
My little man is growing up!
Now, let's see what we can do about giving him a sibling!

That is so cute that he is asking questions now...and even cuter that you just had to say I love you and he was satisfied.
