Recent Happenings

We have been pretty crazy busy lately, but I wanted to share a couple of recent pictures!

Our COOL dude!

Our almost 6 month'er'eating peas!

Hmmmmm, I wonder WHO put letters in Lexi's crib!

Lexi looking cute

Her new sock monkey hat! I just LOVE it!

Ethan is doing great in school and is LOVING reading already! He likes to help us cook, and if I give him a 'chore' to do, he does it really well. He has a lot of friends at school, and his class just published a book- it's pretty neat!

Lexi is rolling over and trying to crawl, but isn't quite there yet. She is eating solids once a day. Ryan's parents bought us the Baby Bullet, to make our own baby food! I haven't used it yet because I'm waiting for the avocado to ripen, but I can't wait to try it out! She still doesn't have any teeth, but the bottom 2 have been giving her some troubles. I hope they will make their appearance soon! Lexi is sitting up pretty good and loves to play with her toys.

Ryan is working all the time. He is going to Colorado next month, and then China probably sometime in March for work.

I'm good. Starting an exercise and diet program when Lexi hits the 6 month point. I'm still working part time and still b-feeding.

I can't wait for springtime and going on walks! I still have to take Ethan skiing this year! He's been sledding a ton of times, but we really want to try the skis out :-)

4 Months and 4 Years

Lexi is 4 months old today! This is what she is up to: Laughing all the time, squealing often, almost sitting up without assistance, still nursing very well, she is ready to start solids, but I'm not quite yet :-), in size 2 diapers, sleeping 10 hours a night straight, still in her pack n play in our room, LOVES her big brother, Loves her bouncy chair, and much more I can't think of now. We have her 4 month wellness checkup tomorrow and her shots :-( I can't wait to see how much she weighs now. I'm guessing 15 lbs. Any other guesses?

Ethan is doing GREAT at school! He received high marks for the first semester of 4k. He LOVES his baby sister, loves playing all the time, he likes to count, and he is starting to READ!! I can't spell in front of him without him being able to figure it out, so now I can't tell Ryan secrets in front of Ethan that I don't want him to hear. He is really excited for Christmas this year and helped me decorate. His only downfall (I mean he is ONLY 4), is sometimes he gets too wild and it is tough to calm him down. Everyone tells me that it is a boy thing, so hopefully it will taper off. Ryan and I are extremely lucky and blessed to have 2 amazingly, wonderful children!!

As for Ryan and me, not too much has been going on. Work, Ryan had a kidney stone :-(, I cooked for Thanksgiving and had a great time, we are getting ready for Christmas and spending as much time with the kiddos as possible.

OOOOooooOOO, It just started snowing outside :-) we are supposed to get snow for the next 3 days. The news stated a "winter weather advisory". Ryan and I always laugh at that because DUH, It's winter. We don't get summer weather advisories, do we?!? Funny. Have a great day everyone!!

Little "peaches" / "sweetcheeks" / "chunkycheeks"

Our baby is 3 months old today! Daddy calls her his little peaches, I call her sweet cheeks and Ethan calls her chunky cheeks :-) She is about 13 1/2 pounds, is starting to laugh really loud from her belly, trying to sit up all the time (emphasis on trying) :-), she is almost too big for 3 month clothes, but still to small for 6 months, Sleeping through the night (10 hours usually all together!!) and she is just overall AWESOME!! She is a very healthy eater too!

Ethan is awesome too and helps out as much as he can! He is such a sweet big bro and he is doing very well in school. He is into toy story still and how to train your dragon. I think he is going through a growth spurt because he's been eating EVERYTHING! We are SO lucky and blessed to have really awesome children!

Ryan has been really sick this past week. He has a kidney stone that is as stubborn as he is. It has made him sick to his stomach and we are just praying and waiting for it to "roll" on out of him. Get it? Rolling stone? Ha!.....Nevermind! :-)

Ryan's brother and his wife are having a baby boy very soon! I believe they are inducing her on Thursday! Please keep them in your prayers for a safe delivery and healthy momma and baby boy!! Thanks!

Roll over baby

Lexi just rolled over today!! She is 11 weeks old tomorrow! She also sat up un-propped for a while today too:-) She is getting so big already. She weighs 12lbs as of friday when I weighed her on our scale!

Ethan looks like he is getting so much bigger too! He told us yesterday that he wanted the house back to the way it was before Lexi. Our hearts dropped. We thought he was doing great and loving everything. We do small "dates" with him every chance we get too. So, after talking to Ethan about how much we all love Lexi and that he is a great big brother, it turns out that all he wanted was us to move the baby swing. LOL! He is the greatest!

Ryan and I had our first Date night since Lexi came home. We went out for dinner and some shopping. It was a lot of fun talking to each other and I hope we get a chance to do it more often. We of course really missed the kids too. We get a lot of "us" time when the kids go to bed to talk usually. We are very blessed with 2 of the most amazing and wonderful kids ever to walk this earth! (well, almost walk :-) ) Speaking of bedtime, Lexi has been sleeping for 10-11 hours a night!! WOW!! Isn't that unheard of?! Ethan did the same thing and continues to be a great sleeper!

I'll be back with pictures from Trick or Treating!!

Our daily schedule

I want to document our daily schedule so I can look back at it when the kids are older and remember what it was like to have a 2 month old :-)

7 am
, everybody wakes up. Ethan gets ready for school, daddy gets ready for work, mommy feeds Lexi and gets ready to take Ethan to school after pumping (Lexi sleeps through the night, so she doesn't finish all that I have, so I have to pump every morning)
8:15, Ethan has to be to school. Sometimes Ryan drives him and I stay home.
Mommy runs errands, goes shopping, takes shower in this time gap.
9:30, 10, Feed Lexi while usually watching Lets make a deal and price is right :-)
10:45-leave to pick up Ethan from school (20 minutes away)
11:30- come home and start fixing lunch while Ethan plays and Lexi naps.
12-1 Lunch.
1- Lexi eats again and Ethan relaxes with 1 show (usually Oobi or Backyardigans)
1:30 or 2- Ethan goes to his room to "take a rest" Sometimes he naps, and sometimes he doesn't, but he lays in his bed for an hour at least.
2-4 Lexi usually takes a nice nap and I try to get housework done.
(on a work day, I am getting ready and pumping before I leave. I usually work 4 or 5 to 9:30P.M.)
4 feed Lexi and Ethan starts to wake up or is allowed out of his room.
5 or 5:30, Ryan usually gets home around now and I start dinner.
5-7, family time including dinner, outdoor play and conversation
7, Lexi eats
7:30(ish) bath time for the kids and getting Ethan ready for bed
8-8:30, Ethan goes to bed
9- Lexi eats and gets into pajamas
9-11 Mommy, Daddy and Lexi time (honestly, we usually catch up on our tv time :-) )
10:30-11 Lexi eats. When she is done, we all go to bed

That is a typical day for us. The weekends are obviously completely different except Lexi's feeding schedule. We are SO lucky that both kids sleep very well and we are never too tired through the day!!

We have a giggler!

Alexis started giggling tonight! She saw a Mickey Mouse sticker, smiled and started giggling at him. What a cutie!
